Hello and welcome to English Timetable.

My name is Jonathan Pratt and I am delighted that you are thinking about developing your English language.
English Timetable is based in Guildford, Surrey, England.

I’m here to help you develop the skills and confidence to learn effectively and quickly and in the context you need.

People are not the same and nor are English Timetable’s courses.

I will work with you to understand exactly why you are studying, what you need and what you want to achieve. Together you and I will set your targets and demonstrate that you reach them.

For me, studying is a partnership. Of course, I will be the teacher but I will also be your classmate. I will both teach you and work with you.

A few key points about me:

  • I am a highly qualified and experienced British English teacher
  • I have been a Teacher (Academic, Business and General/Conversation), Teacher Trainer,
    Director of Academic English and Director of Teaching and Learning in colleges, schools and international companies
  • I have over 22 years EFL / EAP / Business teaching experience with students from over 100 countries (EFL = English as a Foreign Language / EAP = English for Academic Purposes)
  • I deliver Skype 1-1, Skype small groups and face to face courses, lessons and training
  • I provide full editing, proof-reading and speech training services
  • For me, teaching is not just about language learning but involves developing your confidence and helping you broaden your horizons
  • I understand the issues and have been in your shoes. I have been a language student and lived and worked in a number of different cultures. Like you, I have been very busy but both wanted and needed to improve my skills
  • I know the value of personalised teaching and the opportunity to practise and I absolutely know the need for the teacher to be available at the right time for you
